SAM REISS is an American filmmaker and photographer based between NYC and LA. His background in film has led to his emphasis on character and performance in his photography.
He has been working in the New York fashion industry since 2012. He focuses on both traditional portraiture and capturing vibrant personalities at live events.
He enjoys collaborating with brands and editorial outlets that push freedom of human expression, support the LGBTQ+ community, and value empathy.
“I’ve always loved the idea of moonlighting, the duality of leading a double life. I think that everyone has an outward facing persona that is shaped by social norms. That restrained version of someone can sometimes conflict with what is authentically inside. I love being there to capture when someone is comfortable and feeling empowered to reveal who they really are.”
